How to Match Outfits with Complementary Colors

Abbinare i colori e creare outfit stupendi.

Michael says: the trick to matching clothes based on color is to think of color as a kind of family bloodline. All colors have either a small or large portions of other colors in them, and the mix reveals their color bloodline. Understanding the bloodline will tell you which colors are a natural match.

Colors that share a common bloodline are a natural match, but what about colors that don’t share common bloodline?

Michael dice: il trucco di abbinare i vestiti in base al colore è quello di pensare di colore come una sorta di linea di sangue della famiglia. Tutti i colori sono provvisti di piccole o grandi porzioni di altri colori in essi, e il mix rivela la loro linea di sangue (colore). Conoscere la linea di sangue dei vari colori vi aiuta a capire come abbinarli insieme.

Complements are colors that are opposite to each other on the color wheel and they do not share a common color bloodline. Complements stand out very distinctly against each other and, generally speaking, are more difficult to match compared to colors that do share a common color bloodline.

Colori Complementari sono i colori oppositivi sulla ruota dei colori e non condividono una linea di sangue in comune. Colori Complementari distinguono molto nettamente uno dal’altro e, in generale, sono più difficili da abbinare rispetto ai colori che condividono una linea di sangue in comune.

The complements of the primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—are, respectively, the secondary colors—green, violet, and orange. Complements represent visual dissonance in that the eye will not readily flow from one to the other. Because of this effect, complementary colors in clothing are generally perceived to clash.

I prefer applying dark colors rather than light ones to get my smokey eyes. Io preferisco l'applicazione di colori scuri, piuttosto che quelli accesi per ottenere il look smokey eyes. I have not still tried them myself. Instead I tried 3 Coleurs Eyeshadow palette to create my smokey eyes. These are my smokey eyes I got from Dior makeup artist Diana (Modus, Mondovicino ).
